CAA: Farhan Akhtar Questioned By IPS Officer,‘Who’s Tutoring You In Anti-National Activity?’

CAA: Farhan Akhtar Questioned By IPS Officer,‘Who’s Tutoring You In Anti-National Activity?’
With several protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) taking place across the nation, Farhan Akhtar shared in his tweet yesterday that he would be joining the protest in Mumbai too.  He took to Twitter and also urged his followers to join the protest on the 19th, in August Kranti Maidan saying that the time to protest on social media alone is over. Along with the tweet, he also shared a picture describing what CAA and NRC are, and why people are protesting against it. 

Soon after Farhan Akhtar tweeted it, senior IPS officer Sandeep Mittal pointed out that he has broken the law and tagged the Mumbai Police and the National Investigation Agency of India, requesting them to take action. He also  shared a video explaining section 121 of Penal Code. After that, IPS Officer Sandeep Mittal,  further slammed him and replied on another tweet, “Now that you have admitted that the Graphics shared by you was shared by you unknowingly, please tell the Nation who is tutoring you in anti-national activity to incite the public.” ALSO READ: CAA: Farhan Akhtar Requests Followers To Join Protest, IPS Officer Says He Has Committed An Offence, Asks Mumbai Police To Take Action


Earlier, Sandeep Mittal had also replied to Javed Akhtar’s tweets condemning the violent protests in the Jamia Millia university campus. The IPS officer tweeted, “Dear Legal Expert Please elaborate the law of land, the section number and name of the Act etc so that we are also enlightened. Regards.”  


Meanwhile, after Farhan Akhtar realized that the map used in his tweet was an inaccurate one, apologized on Twitter. He wrote, “While I stand by the text, I have only noticed that the map of India on the graphic is inaccurate. Every inch and part of Kashmir is a part of India and I reject the inaccurate map. I regret not noticing it earlier. My sincerest apologies for the oversight.”
